  • Boat Race: La Concha Flag
    The best boats on the Cantabrian coast take part in this competition on the first two Sundays of September. Thousands of visitors and people from Gipuzkoa come to watch the event and create a great party atmosphere in the Old Quarter.
    La Concha Bay (San Sebastian) / 5th and 12th September.
  • Theatre: Karaoke
    Neus Asensi, Elisa Matilla, Juanjo Artero and Ángel Parra star in this comedy about unhappy characters full of humour and irony played by four losers who share the same fate and songs in a local karaoke bar.
    Teatro Principal (San Sebastian) / From 8th to 12th September.
  • Music: Michel Camilo
    The pianist from Santo Domingo plays along side the Basque Country Orchestra, within the novel KlasikAt series and in a special concert in which they play both jazz and afro-Latin and classical music.
    Kursaal (San Sebastian) / 9th September.
  • Theatre: Tres
    Kiti Manver, Nuria González, Aurora Sánchez and Octavi Pujades star in this hilarious play in which three fifty-something female friends try, over a long night, to find a solution to their frustrations at not having had any children.
    Teatro Victoria Eugenia (San Sebastian) / From 9th to 12th September.
  • Fiesta: Txakoli Wine Day
    In this traditional wine-harvesting festival the wine cellars with Txakoli de Getaria D.O. will uncork 1,200 bottles of prized white wine and will offer varied pinchos (bar snacks) after the traditional toast with the first wine of the year.

  • Fair: “Sportjam”
    A total of 60 stands related to surfing, skating and snowboarding will take part in this action sports fair in which the highlight will be the European skateboard competition.
    Ficoba Exhibition Centre (Irun) / 18th and19th September.
  • Medieval Fair
    The streets of the old quarter of Errenteria will go back in time to the Middle Ages once again in this colourful medieval fair. Visitors will find craft and food stalls and street entertainment in the morning and the afternoon.

  • Cinema: 58th San Sebastian Film Festival
    The capital of Gipuzkoa eagerly awaits the arrival of Julia Roberts, who this year will receive the Donostia Award. The event will screen some of the best international films and it is expected that the cinemas and the area around the Kursaal will be packed out.

  • Festival: “Sagar Uzta”
    Astigarraga, capital of cider bars, celebrates the beginning of the cider making season with a popular festival that offers the possibility to taste the first cider of the season.
    Forua Square (Astigarraga) / 26th September.
  • Concert: Guns N’ Roses
    The band led by Axle Rose makes a stop in the provincial capital of Gipuzkoa as part of their European tour Chinese Democracy.
    Velódromo de Anoeta (San Sebastian) / 10th October.
  • Music: Diego El Cigala
    The singer returns to the capital of Gipuzkoa, where he will present his latest work, a tribute to Argentinean tangos.
    Kursaal (San Sebastian) / 16th October.
  • Music: John Hiatt
    After cancelling his concert at Jazzaldia 2008, Hiatt, one of the most important country-rock singer-songwriters will perform in the capital of Gipuzkoa to the delight of his fans.
