Eduardo Chillida’s (1924-2002) dream made reality is a gift to the senses. A 16th century farmhouse and its green property make up Chillida-Leku, a magic place where the sculptor's works seem to breath.
Chillida devoted his last years to create a space to fit his work and where it could be permanently appreciated. In the gardens of the Zabalaga Farmhouse, among beech trees, oak trees and magnolias, he set out forty works, most of them made of iron or granite and some of huge dimensions, corresponding to different stages of his half century of creation. The small sculptures and the engravings are located inside therestored and emptied farmhouse. In occasions, the unforgettable visit to the Chillida-Leku Museum can be completed with pedagogical programmes, ludic activities, and concerts. The Museum is located very near the Hernani forge, where Eduardo Chillida started his works after his experience in Paris.
